A strong culture of safeguarding

Federation Leaders and Governors have ensured:
- Systems and procedures are fit for purpose and are fully understood. All staff wear identity badges and lanyards at all times. Designated Safeguarding team members wear a safeguarding lanyard to identify them.
- Recruitment - all adults working in the Federation have up to date and enhanced DBS checks. Staff have regular safer recruitment training.
- All staff have regular safeguarding training and have read and understood the Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance for schools.

Why FGM happens
FGM is carried out for a number of cultural, religious and social reasons. Some families and communities believe that FGM will benefit the girl in some way, such as preparing them for marriage or childbirth. FGM is a harmful practice that isn't required by any religion and there are no health benefits of FGM.
