We celebrated world book day on 7th March 2024 and our theme was ‘Incredible journey’s’. We were looking at the book called ‘journey’ by Aaron Becker. We had a whole class assembly where we celebrated each other’s costumes, won prizes and heard a story from Mrs Wainwright. In class, we completed journey themed activities such as adding words to the story and making magical doors.
Teachers were dressed as ‘Where’s Wally’ and children went on a wally scavenger hunt.
We had lots of fun!

Congratulations to student Elizabeth and her teammates on becoming the new Champions of Great Britain with two gold and one bronze medals!
Reception thought about how we could reduce and reuse our waste to stop people leaving rubbish on the beach, like the character Rocket in ‘clean up’ which we read. Orchard and Bellamy used old vegetables, like Celery, as stamps to create some fishy art pieces.
On Monday 28th February, Talbot class went on a class trip to the Cutty Sark Museum. They learnt about the ship, the way in which it moves, what things are used to make it move and looked at the engineering mechanics of the ship. At the end of the session the children made a simple pulley lever, to help them understand the mechanics of a pulley.
Open Mornings for Prospective Parents:

On Friday 27th May, Peninsula celebrated the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
Our celebrations included children coming to school dressed as Kings and Queens, enjoying a picnic at lunchtime, completing a maths trail linked to the Jubilee and singing a special song composed for the Jubilee called ‘Rise Up and Serve’. Each class learned about a country from the Commonwealth and this learning was shared in an assembly at the end of the day.
All children and staff had a very blessed and happy day!
